The best of the best were once again in the spotlight at the ceremonial medal presentation on Medal Plaza in Kranjska Gora. Ebba Andersson rightfully received the golden snowflake for her magnificent victory in the skiathlon.

Piotr Zyla defended his world title in the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships in Planica 2023 with a fantastic second jump in the final round. The Polish Ski Jumper won the gold medal from 13th place after the first round. Earlier in the day, the women's German ski jumping team clinched the gold medal.

The German women's ski jumping team also stepped onto the highest podium as they conquered the competition in the team event. Norwegian Jarl Magnus Riiber received his third gold medal at his third FIS Nordic World Ski Championships for his Nordic combined win in ski jumping and 10 km cross-country skiing.

Ebba Andersson broke the reign of Norwegian women cross-country skiers in the skiathlon at the 43rd FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Planica 2023. The 25-year-old from the town of Delboa became the first Swedish woman to win gold in this discipline. Norwegian Jarl Magnus Riiber remains unbeaten in the Nordic combined ski jumping and 10 km cross-country skiing in his third straight World Championship.

On Sunday, Women and Men Cross-country skiers will work together in a team sprint, starting at 11.30. The Nordic combined mixed team will start even earlier at 10.30 and on the cross-country courses will be at 15.00. Women and Men Ski jumpers will also work together, with the first round of mixed teams event is scheduled for 17:00.

You may not know...

• For the first time in the history of the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships, we'll see in Planica a mixed Nordic combined team event.

• The most successful athlete in terms of World Championships medals is Norway's Marit Bjørgen. In her career, she has won 18 gold, five silver and three bronze medals. 

• German ski jumper Katharina Althaus has three gold medals from mixed team events at World Championships. She won the first one in Falun in 2015 together with Carina Vogt, Richard Freitag and Severin Freund.
